Circular is a **subscription service**, which means devices are normally returned at the end of the subscription period. However, if you’ve grown fond of your Circular device and would prefer not to return it, you may choose to keep it by paying the applicable **Non-Return Fee**. Once the Non-Return Fee is paid in full, your subscription cycle will end and ownership of the device will transfer to you. The **Non-Return Fee** is calculated using the device’s **Device Reference Price**, less a **Subscription Credit** equal to 50% of the subscription payments you have made. **Formula:** **Non-Return Fee = Device Reference Price – Subscription Credit^** ^ Subscription Credit = 50% of total subscription payments made The quoted amount is rounded up to the nearest cent and does not include any other outstanding charges, if applicable. :::tip **Example scenario:** * Subscription starts on 05/01/2024 for 12 months at $100 per month * You request to keep the device on 01/08/2024 after 7 monthly payments * Device Reference Price: $2000 * Subscription Credit: 50% of $700 = $350 * **Non-Return Fee: $2000 – $350 = $1650** ::: --- ## What is the Device Reference Price? The **Device Reference Price** is the value assigned to the device within the Circular subscription framework. In most cases, this value is based on the manufacturer’s **recommended retail price (RRP)**. In limited circumstances, such as supply shortages, it may instead reflect Circular’s procurement cost. --- ## Why might the Non-Return Fee differ from the retail price shown by a partner store? The **Device Reference Price** used to calculate the Non-Return Fee may differ from retail prices displayed by merchant partners. This is because merchant partners may offer **promotional or market-based pricing**, while Circular uses a **reference value assigned within the subscription framework** to calculate the Non-Return Fee. As a result, the amount quoted through Circular’s **[Self-Help Portal](https://form.fillout.com/t/o4A53icpWAus)** may not match the retail price shown by a partner store at the time your subscription was taken up. --- ## Can I keep the device during or at the end of my subscription? Yes. You may choose to keep your device at any point during your subscription term, except during the first month.
